Kottaipurathu Veedu

When we say, we are rich, what does it implies? Whether it only means that we have more money, we can buy anything, and we can do anything? Do richness doesn’t have any correlation to self-discipline?  Do rich individuals don't need to respect others and only want to be respected in return? Is justice not applied equally to all? To all the queries and annoyances, the author Indra Soundarajan created an incredible thriller story "Kottaipurathu Veedu". One could initially assume from the name that this tale is all about ghosts and mystery. However, when one reads on, they can experience a suspense thriller along with many in-depth messages. Though the story starts with the introduction of today's characters Archana and Visu, the foundation of this story was laid in early 1920s by Vangiammal and Nanduvadakan. Archana and Visu loved each other and after completing his graduation, Visu got back to his home town. He is a member of the royal family, and his family resided in...

Veerayuga Nayagan Velpari

Back in 2019, when I first came across the book "Velpari," I had little faith that it would be a worthwhile read. I assumed it would be one of the typical tales about a little king giving his chariot to a growing plant. After two years, I heard from a friend that this book is enjoyable to read, so I decided to give it a try. I was astonished to realize that there was no stock at all and that it was in high demand when I tried to purchase the book. It greatly increased interest in this novel. I kept track for almost six months and finally clicked the book as soon as the stock arrived.         After reading the book, I could now appreciate its true value. I also realized the saying “Don’t judge a book by its cover”. Some novels will make us feel happy, while others will make us stop and ponder, while still others will make us cry, and still others will make us feel proud. However, this book presented everything at once. I got goosebump...

Before the coffee gets cold

Who would you choose to meet if you had the chance to travel back in time but couldn't alter the present? In his book "Before the coffee goes cold" , Toshikazu Kawaguchi walks us through many scenarios in which one might use such an offer. A little café in Japan claims to be able to transport customers back in time . However, there are a few requirements that must be met before accepting this offer. No matter how hard you try, the present won't alter if you go back in time. You can't meet people who haven’t visited this café. You can only move to the past from one seat, and that seat is fixed. But a ghost woman is occupying that one seat in particular. If you try to push her too much, she will curse you. When the seat is available, you can sit in it, when the ghost woman uses the restroom. The most crucial guideline is, "There is a time limit". You will be handed a coffee, and you must drink it and return to the present before it becomes cold. If no...

Life's Amazing Secrets

Weary of facing challenges in life? Feeling impatient with life? Do you feel bitter towards God because your life is so difficult? Not able to make a relationship work? Unable to experience happiness in life? The book "Life's Amazing Secrets" by Gaur Gopal Das will provide you with the answers to all your problems if you deal with any of these or similar issues. Whether one is rich or not, most people struggle to live peacefully, regardless of their financial situation. The main reason is that we don't know how to live a balanced and meaningful life.      Harry, one of the author's wealthy friends, was very bewildered as the author began to explain the ideas. He uses the example of a car to illustrate his points. All cars have four wheels that bear the same amount of weight on the axle. Any one of these wheels could lose air, which would reduce the car's speed. A loss of any of the wheels is fatal. The four wheels must be constantly inspected and maint...

LOVE - What a wonderful word! When we hear this word, it evokes a variety of emotions in us. It might be one of our most beautiful moments, one of our unfulfilled recollections, or something else entirely. It varies from one person to the next. Consider a circumstance in which you adore someone and devote all of your time and affection to them. However, the same person is unconcerned about you. Any effort you make goes in vain. How does it feel? Being rejected by love is one of the most painful feelings a person can experience. As a result, it causes a slew of mental issues such as despair, rage, stress, and more. This applies to many parts of our lives, not just relationships. What can be done about it? How can we increase our happiness? Is there any solution?      Yes. There are various options, and Shwetabh Gangwar discusses them all in detail in his book "The Rudest Book Ever". As the title suggests, this book is rude where the author addresses e...

Rich Dad Poor Dad

What is the most crucial factor for everyone? It could be love for some, food for others, or family for others, and it varies from person to person. However, in the vast majority of cases, the ultimate goal is to have enough money when it is needed. We'd like to have enough money to avoid having to look at the price card while eating our favorite cuisine in a restaurant. Even though we all work hard, not everyone has a steady stream of income. Not everyone is financially self-sufficient. So, what exactly is the issue? Where are we falling short? And how do we get around it? Robert T. Kiyosaki provides good answers to all of these questions in his book “Rich dad Poor dad”. Robert's story begins in his boyhood. Robert and his childhood friend Mike were not invited to his classmate's beach house when they were 9 years old since they were poor kids. This was the most painful to them. When Robert told his father, who he refers to as a poor dad, he simply said, "Go make mone...

The Shiva Trilogy

A great warrior, a people's leader, an adoring spouse, a beloved father, a fantastic dancer, a beautiful vocalist, and so much more. All of these are the attributes of Shiva, a Tibetan exile.  Shiva came to India from Tibet  with his people, the Gunas, to the Meluha Kingdom, led by Nandi, in search of peace and tranquility. They used a drug called  Somaras  in Meluha to keep them young and living for a longer period. When Shiva and his tribe arrived in Meluha, they were given Somaras as well. Shiva's neck went blue because of this. The residents of Meluha and Nandi were taken aback when they saw this. Because they believe that a person whose neck goes blue after consuming Somaras will be their protector. The Meluhians dubbed Shiva as  "Neelkanth"  after this incident. Siva was puzzled by all these actions and didn't know how to respond.      Daksha, the King of Meluha, called Shiva to his palace. He was greeted with open...
